On Self-Confidence

These couple months, found out that  some people I knew have problems with self-confidence. I found it a little bit strange, in a way. I think they have no reasons to be not so confident about themselves. I think they’re great persons. If there’s anyone who should have not been confident about themselves, it should have been me :-) And yet, tita is always always telling me that I have something to be proud of, although confidence is not about being proud of yourself at all.

Still, why people could feel that way about themselves? What are the reasons? Is it our own fears? Is it our own wrong assumptions about the world, the society or something else? Is it the combination of both? Probably.

A friend of mine did not agree with me. That friend was saying that the people who have least confidence, it doesn’t mean that they’re really not confident. On the contrary, they can be very confident about themselves. In fact, those who look so confident about themselves, may be the least confident person deep down. They cover their lack of self-confidence (and sometimes insecurity) with domination, agrresiveness, etc.

If you’re feeling not so confident, you may have the feeling that you got nothing to lose. If you lose, you suck and it is already in your equation (you = suck). If you are not, well, that’s…. a nice irregularity! The point is, you got nothing to lose. You only have two probability on your way, one that is already predicted (cause you thought that you would suck anyway so when it happens you don’t feel suprise at all :-D) and two, you feel something better about yourself without being snob or whatever (cause you’re still thinking that you suck :P). And this is the arguments that I probably got nothing to lose and that I probably have that self-confidence anyway. It’s hidden somewhere but it’s there.

And I’m thinking maybe that person is right after all. Maybe, it is the combination of fears and false assumption that create our lack self-confidence. Fears which is based on our false assumptions. And it is your mind that creates your own fears, your own false assumptions. Once you can liberate yourself, your mind, you ‘re fine. You may not turn to be a very confident person, but you feel better about yourself and everything that will come your way. You feel that you are in line with the world, with the universe.

Emancipate yourself from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our mind (bob marley)
