Demi Kemanusiaan yang Buta
Ingat film pay it forward? Gagasan dari anak kecil yang mencoba mengaplikasikan pola bisnis MLM dalam membantu sesama. Ingat juga dengan Robbie Williams, penyanyi mantan boy band yg menjadi solo dan gila. Disebut gila karena dia pernah mendonasikan satu ginjalnya untuk orang yg dia gak kenal. What do they have in common? Kemanusiaan yg buta, yang mungkin disatukan dengan harapan punya kontribusi untuk dunia yang lebih baik, sekecil apapun… even in a freaky way.
Saya ingat dulu, waktu membentuk planetmuslim. Idenya berangkat dari menghubungkan antara permintaan dari orang-orang yang ingin nyumbang tapi bingung kemana dan supply panti-panti atau lembaga sosial lain yang perlu disumbang. Mungkin karena inisiatornya kebetulan a freak NGO worker who must consider the elements of accountability and transparency, mekanismenya jadi ada survey pendahuluan, penerimaan, pelaporan, dll dll. Mencari dan memilih panti dan lembaga yang membutuhkan. Mencari tahu kebutuhan anak2 itu apa. Apakah anaknya pintar? Apakah anaknya rajin sekolah? Dan kadang, ada juga yang bertanya apakah anaknya Islam? Duh. Semuanya terorganisasi dan teratur. Perlu menggorganisasi massa. Perlu mengorganisasi kegiatan. De el el. So formal. So organized. So based on the rules.
Cerita ini sudah jadi bagian dari masa lalu. Dihancurkan oleh satu orang, yang memakai dana bantuan untuk kepentingan pribadi dan sebagian dari kami kena getahnya untuk mengganti uang tersebut. Dan gw putuskan utk tidak diteruskan, karena gagal menjadi kegiatan bersama. And I thought, there has to be lots of alternatives and options to do that. A better way than this one. Dan mungkin kecewa juga. I don’t trust that person since beginning. But my friends were saying I was threathened by her. Ridicilous! I have a good feeling on people, except on boys :D. And there I was, trying to receive all those comments and (irrelevant) critiques and had to hand-over my leadership to her while I was in my cave, in Den Haag. And voila, next year I know, that she did exactly the things that I was so afraid of. She killed my baby whom I raised for years. Grow it lovingly since it was just a seed.
Anyway, she can killed my baby, but the spirits still there, live within me. Dan lahirlah, konsep yang berangkat dari ide kemanusiaan yang buta. Konsep yang mengandung unsur ketidakberaturan dan spontanitas. Mirip dengan konsep pay it forward, it’s simply requires you to give your help the best you can do to other person who most probably is a stranger. You would do that, despite all those the do and the don’ts in charity, simply for the sake of humanity.
And i did it without realizing that I did it. It’s only today that I realized that gosh, I bowed my head to that absurd minded concept of being human. Bukan karena amal. Bukan karena pahala. Bukan karena apa-apa. Simply being human. I bumped with a friend of mine, cimun (aci muncrut :P) who suddenly started this weird conversation with me by asking, “Mbak, muka gue ada yang aneh gak? It was then I know that she was feeling sad that pak jenggot has just passed away. And she just keep on telling me her stories about pak jenggot and his kids. She simply just remembered him by doing that. And I knew then, that his kids need help and we somehow decided to give it, every month, until they’re be able to stand on their feet. I never meet one of them. Don’t have to. Their imaginary pictures do stop by on my dummy brain once a while, at times when I’mtrying to think what extra items that they probably would love to have this month. Cimun’s funky grandma think I’m crazy. A crazy person in a sweet way, though.
So once a while, you bumped with other person again. Telling you their sad stories or other’s sad stories. And they told you more and more of those sad stories, their memories of a stranger to you. And you just simply feeling the urge to help. Yes, of course you’re helping the stranger person based on other person’s memory. But the thing is, you start creating memories with that stranger. And it’s not even as radical as what robbie williams or the concept in pay it forward. Because they’re blinder than we are. The person who received robbie william’s kidney might be a junkie, as the persons that are part of the pay it forward network are not qualified as persons who can receive charity money. But they need help. We could provide help. And the demand and supply just meet! Robbie williams memang mampu membuktikan dirinya bukan sekedar bisa bernyanyi.
Demi kemanusiaan yang buta. Ada yang bilang, buta adalah kondisi dimana ketika kita kehilangan fungsi dan kemampuan penglihatan. Ataukah sebenarnya yang terjadi justru sebaliknya, buta adalah titik dimana kita mendapatkan satu cara melihat yang baru? Entahlah. Tapi saya suka gagasannya.
